Steering Santa Cruz into the digital age

Having served as Municipal Mayor between 2016-2019, Mayor Marisa Red-Martinez returns for a fresh term with a mission to drive local economic recovery while providing the necessary social safety nets to protect local residents from increasingly complex challenges of a changing world.

FLAGSHIP PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES

Inclusive Health Services and Accessible Facilities

Mayor Marisa Red-Martinez continues to push for locally and nationally funded health enhancement projects while bringing to the municipality non-government organizations and associations who provide medical, surgical, dental, and other health-related missions to the people of Santa Cruz.

Food Sufficiency thru Agricultural Development

Mayor Marisa Red-Martinez envisions local communities and clustered households specializing in certain aspects of food production. Her Tanim Pag-asa Program focuses on vegetable growing while her Native Chicken Dispersal Program focuses on livestock raising. Through these initiatives, Santa Cruz aspires to lessen its dependence on externally traded food products.

Climate Adaptation among Local Fisherfolk

Recognizing the deepening impact of climate change to local fisherfolk - declining fish catch, arbitrary tidal movements, warming sea waters - Mayor Marisa Red-Martinez launched the Tawid Pangarap Program to capacitate local fisherfolk in the manufacturing and eventually, trading and marketing of fiber reinforced plastic water crafts.

Tourism, Culture, and Local Creative Enterprise Development

In support of the recently enacted Creative Industries Act of the Philippines, Mayor Marisa Red has sought to harmonize the local government's tourism, culture, and arts sectors into a coordinated creative industries promotion strategy anchored on the municipality's treasured, history, heritage and eco-attractions.

LOCALIZING THE UNITED NATIONS
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Underpinning the Ten Point Executive Agenda of Municipal Mayor Marisa Red-Martinez is a mission to enable the institutional and organizational foundations towards realizing the UN-SDGs anchored on the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) and the priorities of His Excellency President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
